CENDARI is a four-year project funded by the European Union through the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). Trinity College leads the project in partnership with 13 institutions from 7 European countries. The project brings together leading historians, archivists and IT specialists in order to develop a digital infrastructure that will facilitate and enhance the research process in the field of humanities, with special emphasis on medieval European culture and the First World War.
CENDARI seeks to integrate digital archives and archival sources relevant for research on the subject of medieval and modern European history and to enable unified access to data from isolated archives and data silos. Special attention is dedicated to enhancing the visibility of hidden archival institutions with poor digital presence that preserve significant historical sources.
